Even smaller funders can have a big impact by investing in projects that affect an entire sector. The Pierce Family Foundation sought out, and in many cases help found, initiatives that address the homeless services sector, racial equity in Chicago, and nonprofit capacity. These projects included AMPT: Advancing Nonprofits, Chicago Funders Together to End Homelessness, Chicago Racial Justice Pooled Fund, Peer Skill Share, Chicago Youth Storage Initiative, and others.
